Detailed Sony Xperia M upgrade tutorial

Last year Sony released this amazing phone which ran on 4.1.2 Jelly bean version of Android platform which worked awesomely awesome. In India, it started in a price of around ~14,000 /- . It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipset, A Dual core Krait CPU of 1 GHz Frequency, and 1 GB of RAM under the hood. So in a price range like this, Its "awesomely awesome" . Now only disturbing thing was that it didn't take any kind of updates from its release. People around the globe were waiting eagerly for updates until last month when Sony released an Updater update. Which means an update, which will take in future updates. After a prolonged waiting time, yesterday, Sony released an update for Xperia M to make its android from 4.1.2 Jelly Bean to 4.3 Jelly Bean. The changes will be given as follows. For now the procedure right?

Okay :- First of all make sure that you have the updater update installed. If not, Scan for updates, they will give you then. Now the main tutorial. -

You will automatically be notified of the update, or go to settings/about device/update and then you will get the same notification from Sony's update centre. The update's specific name is 15.4.A.0.23.

Procedure :- You need a working and stable computer and internet connection on the computer do this update. P.N - This procedure is common for all Sony Android Phones. First you have to download Sony's PC Companion suite from Sony's official website - Link :- Click Here . After you download it, Install it. there you will find a tool called support zone. go for it, and it will download and install 2 MB of data. Now it begins.

Go to your Xperia M settings and you navigate to Xperia ^tm . Then from connectivity select MTP mode. And then close all the background running applications and lock the device. Then connect the phone to computer using the fine data cable supplied from Sony. P.N - Make sure that your USB ports, or the cable or the port of the phone is not buggy or loose. This may cause huge problems during update, which may result to damage of the phone. So any way connect the phone and run the PC Companion software. Then at the top left corner click on connect. It will show Xperia M connected. like this :-

Go for the update. From now I will be posting images of the detailed update procedure. That will be enough for you to understand. So :-

This part is very very important. Read and follow every steps mentioned. The android has been downloaded in your computer. Now your phone will be updated. Do not remove the device, or transfer files, or run heavy programs on PC, or connect other USB devices. In one line. Do Not Touch The Computer.

The phone is now updating. P.N If this part is interrupted. There is a chance that your device may be damaged.

Now your phone is updated. Disconnect and switch your phone on. Do not freak out by the time of booting.

Its completely normal.

After the booting. Your phone now will apply the updates. And your screen will go like this.

Your phone is now successfully updated. Now I will state the changes.

Changes :-

New Lock Screen. Very smooth and nice

You will find new Albums, Movies, and Walkman app. They are more flexible. You can find your stuff easier than you are used to in the previous ones. Thank you Sony for the update.
